What it does
- Set the scale once on a site plan, a PDF drawing or a satellite photo, then drop welfare units, an office, toilets, storage, parking and a wheel wash on it at true size
- Draw mesh fencing, hoarding and exclusion zones on the plan
- Tower and mobile crane radii, with the lifting zones marked on the plan
- A scale bar and your logo, then export the site plan as a PDF drawing
- A set-up schedule in Excel: fence panels, barriers, cabins and the rest of the kit, ready for hire prices
- Send drawings to it straight from the Drawing manager, and share the plan by email or WhatsApp
Questions
What is a site set-up plan?
A drawing of how the site will be laid out while you build: where the welfare, storage, parking, skips and fencing go, the routes for people and vehicles, the fire point and the assembly point. It is also called a site layout plan or site plan. It goes in the construction phase plan and is shown to everyone at the site induction.
Do I need one for a small job?
CDM 2015 asks for a construction phase plan on every job, domestic ones included, and the site arrangements are part of it. On a small job a simple marked-up site plan is usually enough. Read the guide to the domestic construction phase plan for what it needs to cover.
Can I draw it over a satellite photo?
Yes. Bring in a satellite photo of the site, set the scale from a distance you know, and everything you place lands at its true size.
Is it free?
Yes. The site set-up plan works in full in SiteHelm Free on a PC or a Mac, with no card needed.
